I’m writing this blog from inside a lion
(Formerly: “Some roads may be less traveled for a reason.”)
Imagine you’re a kid, bip-bopping through your day all happy and carefree. Suddenly these two mugs get plopped down in front of you and you’re told, “Don’t be afraid, son. This’ll be fun!”
Talk about grist for future therapy.
Fortunately little Alex Mann Zocchi seems made of hardy stuff. Meanwhile his apparently shameless parents continue to careen recklessly through life, not limiting their damage to the developing psyche of a young child but fostering such obvious disinformation as the implicit claim that all people with shaved heads look alike. Although I suppose there are worse things than being compared to the man who looked “more like a criminal or pirate than a guy who writes poems for kids.”
As someone around here obviously needs to act like an adult, I’ll take the high road and limit my comments to congratulations–admittedly a day late–to Alex’s parental units, Pam Gessert and Gregg Zocchi. Happy anniversary, you guys. As the Dude would say, you rock. And as Uncle Shelby would undoubtedly add, please “pardon the wild crazy thing I just said–I’m just not the same since there’s rain in my head.”
