Tuesday my son Derek leaves for Guatamala for a summer research project in pursuit of his B.A. in Anthropology at the University of Chicago. You and Lisa were helpful in 2001 when he was looking for a ”gap” year program. Thanks to your encouragement he had a very good experience and has returned several times, as well as become proficient in two of the Mayan languages.

Congrats! I have been away from your blog for too long. I got the biggest smile (and a little weepy) as I read through most of your entries since Sept. Great to get caught up on all the wonderful and difficult times of the last several months since we hung out in Philly in Sept. I will keep you both in my thoughts as that cute little bun keeps cooking in your oven. Stay well and safe.
