This is a story of truth, written to reveal a Great Secret to you.  You may close your eyes, if you wish, as you listen to this story.  Sometimes, it is easier to hear a story of truth with your eyes closed.

Part I:  The Great Secret
Living somewhere among the stars is a goddess from whom come the children, otherwise known as the “Little Ones.”  Her name is Madramore.  Madramore is very wise and most loving.  As the mother of all Little Ones, she passes her traits along to her children, so she is composed of several heavenly elements, some of which are:  Wonder, Awe, Trust, Resilience, Intense Stubbornness, Belief, Imagination, Love, Simplicity, Temper, Big Eyes, Bad Spells, Dimples, Unruliness, Hunger for Learning and Food, Animal-Like Behavior, a Keen Ability to Melt the Hearts of Adults.

As the great lover and creator of children, Madramore has been quite prolific over the years.  But she has also been quite deliberate in when and how she creates each Little One, which she does with great passion, tenderness and thought.  However, although she is the creator of children and knows what will eventually happen to each one, she has no control over what their fate will be once they come to earth.  Hence, she believes that the only loving way to empower the Little Ones for their journey on earth is to give them the Gift of Choice.  Now, listen closely because here is the Great Secret:  Little Ones choose their own parents.

One day, while dreaming of her next Little One, Madramore knew it was time to issue a very special Wee One, so she went to a very quiet and peaceful place.  She closed her eyes, drew a deep breath that resounded in the Heavens and with her loving hands, formed a Little One, whom she called Javid.  When Javid was formed, she held him closely and in the silence that surrounded them, listened for the message of his future.  When finally the message entered her heart, she held Javid tightly and told him to open his ears, his eyes and his heart.  Then Madramore told Javid that he would have a difficult time with his physical body and there would be no promise of a long life.  She asked Javid if he still wanted to accept the journey to earth.  Javid was quiet for a time so long that his stillness covered the Heavens.  Then he looked at his Madramore and said to her:  “Only if I can find the right parents.”

Part II:  The Search
So Javid began the universal search for his parents.  He pretty much knew what he would need (thought through during his long silence):  Lots of love, kisses, hugs, cuddles.  He knew that he would need to be gently held and to hear the hearts of his parents beating next to his cheek.  He knew that he would need to share his pain with his mom and dad so that he would not be alone in his suffering.  He knew that he would need to have his parents close to him every day.  He knew that he would need smart parents beside him to make good decisions on his behalf.  And, finally, he knew that he wanted to dress really cool, so he would need parents who understood kid fashion.

So Javid searched and searched, got into the heads of some potential parents and immediately retreated.  He knew he was being exceptionally selective but – after all – this was HIS journey!  One day, he was doing his usual cruising and was feeling a little tired.  He decided to take a break and found himself – of all places – on Beaumont Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.  He was a little surprised that he had arrived here, having deliberately avoided Philadelphia knowing it was not such a safe place to cruise.  But it was a beautiful day in the middle of the week, and, needing place to rest, he entered the home at 4816.  As soon as Javid entered this place, he sensed that he was surrounded by warmth, love, peace – in general – a place that could easily be called “home.”  Javid was encouraged by these clues, searched the premises and found the names of the folks who lived here:  Ana Lisa Yoder and Tony Lapp.  Now for the best part of his cruising – he got to look around, open drawers, go through closets, look at pictures and get a real idea of who these folks were.  He also decided to do a head visit and this is what he found:

About the mom-person:  He liked her name because AnaLisaYoder was kind of like A to Z; well, really A to Y but nobody used Z, anyway.  He guessed from this clue that she had a big heart, open and accepting of others.  He found that she was a gentle, loving woman who constantly served others and touched them with kindness and compassion.  She had a sweetness about her face and voice that was perfect for a loving mom and there was a truth about her that was comforting.
About the dad-person:  This guy was a tall one!  Javid knew that this guy could definitely make up for his upcoming wee-ness, which he thought was the perfect situation.  Javid would also be able to easily pick him out of a crowd because of his cool head.  However, at first, Javid wasn’t so sure about that thing growing on his chin and gave it a good yank once, finding that it was the real thing!!  That was encouraging! – no phony here!  Most importantly, though, he found the dad-person to be a strong but gentle man and one whose head and heart created a kind of music in the form of words that held comfort and laughter.

Now Javid knew that he had about 9 months to choose parents.  It was still early in his search so he could really take his time in making this important decision.  But something happened to change Javid’s time line.  As Javid was thinking about these two as parents, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a bright light.  In turning toward the light, he saw that Ana Lisa and Tony were sitting together and were joined by a bright circle of light that had been formed by the love and friendship between them – it was radiant!  Javid’s heart nearly burst as he flew to the center of the circle and, in that instant, was born as Javid Fynn Lapp Yoder.

Part III:  The End of the Story
Mostly, all of you know about Javid’s journey but you do not know the end of the story.  So let me share this with you, as well.  When Javid’s earthly life was ending, he, being the little fighter that he was, resisted.  One more time, he wanted to be moved from his bed into that bright circle of love that had drawn him so many months ago.  As usual, his mom and dad knew what he needed without his asking.  In his last moments, they lifted him from his bed and gave him the final gift of touch from others who had also loved him.  The strength of caring in those those touches calmed the Wee One and, satisfied now, Javid was ready to return to Madramore.  Madramore, of course, had been watching from afar since Javid was born.  Her heart had nearly burst with joy at Javid’s choice for parents.  She knew that she could not have done better herself.  She prayed her Parents Prayer every day for Ana Lisa and Tony, knowing that Javid’s new parents had not known of the journey Javid would take.  She also knew that this journey would change them forever.

Oh, yes, this is the other part of the Great Secret.  Children who leave earth too soon return immediately to Madramore.  She encircles them with her love, covers them with her kisses and treats them to great mounds of chocolate.  She surrounds herself with their heavenly traits, which continuously replenish her supply of Wonder, Awe, Trust, Resilience, Intense Stubbornness, Belief, Imagination, Love, Simplicity, Temper, Big Eyes, Bad Spells, Dimples, Unruliness, Hunger for Learning and Food, Animal-Like Behavior, a Keen Ability to Melt the Hearts of Adults.

Thank you, Javid, for sharing your journey with us.  Thank you for your life and spirit.  And, thank you most of all for choosing Ana Lisa and Tony as your parents.
